A spiritual storm is forming over our nation — and Derek Limbaugh argues it’s all rooted in Jacob and Esau. Is Western civilization the newest face of Edom? Has Christianity unknowingly carried both the light and the danger of Esau for 2,000 years? And what happens when the “remnant of Edom” finally returns to the tents of Jacob? In this powerful message, Derek confronts rising extremism, collapsing vessels, and the crisis facing today’s youth — and reveals why the rectification of Esau may be the final key to redemption.
Are we ready to engage… or will we stand by as Rome rises again?

[00:00:04] Speaker A: All right, Shabbat Shalom, everybody. I'm filling in for Rabbi Damien again this week, so I appreciate that opportunity. Got an interesting Torah portion this week. I want to start with saying struggle and division. This is the theme that opens up our parsha this week and also the current theme in this topsy turvy world we live in. Before we begin, I must say that this is a bit of a continuation from the message I gave a few months ago entitled the Generation of Redemption. If you're unfamiliar with that, I encourage you to go back and watch it in light of this one. But there is a dark cloud that is coming over the horizon of our world. Now, as I've stated before, the hour is late and the kingdom of Heaven is imminent and we have the ability to hasten the redemption and Messiah Yeshua's return. But I'm very concerned. I'm concerned with what is happening in this country and I'm concerned with what is happening in Christianity. But most acutely, I'm concerned about our young people and the razor's edge path that they must walk in order not to be swallowed up into the depths of Edom. There will be some challenging things said today, things for our refinement, I hope. But ultimately we must talk about it because our children's future and the redemption is at stake. There is a massive split and shift happening in the world at this very moment, and all of it revolves around Jacob and Esau. Esau is evil. Surprise. Jewish tradition teaches that he was a murderer, rapist, fornicator, hedonist and hypocrite. He actually feigned holiness to his father. As the midrash Tanchuma states. Jacob, though is righteous. He is described as innocent, complete and holy, dwelling in the tents and studying Torah. We know the story. Esau rejects the birthright and sells it to Jacob. Later, on Isaac's deathbed, Jacob, under his mother's instructions, dresses up in the garments of the Esau to procure the blessing of the firstborn. After learning about this, Esau cries bitterly and desires to kill his brother Jacob. Jacob flees and would not see his brother again for another 20 years. Esau then demands a blessing from his father and is told that one, he will live by the sword, two serve his younger brother and three, become restless and throw off his brother's yoke. So what does this have to do with today? The sages explain that Jacob is a representative of the Jewish people. Am Yisra'. El. But Esau, who is Esau? Esau became the father of the nation of Edom, Edom, the people who cheered, raze it. Raze it to its very foundation when the Babylonians were destroying the first holy temple. While ultimately Edom died out as a nation, our sages state that the spiritual descendant of Esau and Edom was. Was none other than Rome. Throughout rabbinic literature, Edom has become a code word for Rome. Think about it. They were a great kingdom, as prophesied when Rebekah sought Hashem about the twins struggling in her womb. There are two nations, two kingdoms, and one shall be stronger than the other. Rome was very strong. Israel, not so much. Rome lived by the sword. And throughout the first two centuries, Rome spilled insurmountable Jewish blood, crucifying Yeshua, the Messiah, King of the Jews, and culminating with the destruction of Jerusalem, the burning of the holy Temple, and the final exile we are still currently in. Rome was also arguably the greatest empire the world has ever seen and was the epitome of Esau going out to conquer and expanding its borders while donning red uniforms. It also fulfilled Rashi's commentary that while the twins were in utero, when Rebekah walked past a house of study, Jacob would try to push forth from the womb, desiring holiness. But when she walked past the house of idolatry, Esau would push forth to escape from the womb, desiring to worship idols. Rome was full of idolatry and sexual deviancy above all kinds. They were also likened to the pig who has cloven hooves, which are the outward sign of a kosher animal, but lacks the chewing of the cud, which is the internal kosher sign. They acted righteous through establishing just judicial systems, while inwardly they were carnal and corrupt. But Rome fell, and who did Rome turn into? What became the next iteration of Esau? Before we answer this question, we must pause because there is an elephant in the room. Or maybe we should call it a pig. There is a pig in the room, so to speak, and we have to address it. There is a verse from our Torah portion that has not been talked about yet, and that is, Isaac loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob. Isaac, the holy Patriarch, the promised son of Abraham, loved his wicked son over his righteous one. Rebekah clearly sees her eldest son's farce and prefers Jacob. Did they not talk? What is going on here? Our sages say something incredible. Isaac, the man who is known for his blindness, saw the latent potential that existed in his eldest son, Esau, and that is why he so deeply loved him. He saw and knew Esau had the power in him to achieve his great spiritual destiny, and that his two sons would work together and bring the redemption. But the question remains, what specifically was it that Isaac saw that gave him so much hope and such confidence? Our sages state that Esau was actually a man who possessed incredible lofty spiritual light. Esau's soul root was connected to this intense light, but his vessels were weak and fragile, unable to contain the great strength of that light, and therefore he shattered, becoming wicked. Whereas Jacob's soul root was connected to a milder light but with strong vessels, that being the tents of Torah, he did not shatter. Earlier I quoted the commentary that Esau would try to jump toward the house of idols while in Rebekah's womb. The Lubavitch Rebbe offers a novel insight, stating that Isaac did not see Esau desiring to escape his mother's womb to go and worship idols, but rather he was desiring to go to the houses of idolatry and destroy them. There are various Midrashim that state that Esau not only trapped men, but would trap criminals with his mouth, interrogating them until they confessed to their crimes. The Targum Yonathan states that it was Esau himself who slew the evil king Nimrod. Even more so, the Zohar of all texts states that no one fulfilled the commandment to honor their father more than Esau. And the Mecha Shaloek relates that Esau's wildness indicated his great spiritual potential, showing that he was willing to take risks and and if they worked out, could accomplish much more than those who are cautious. He even states, isaac saw that Esau had the potential to hasten the redemption even quicker than his brother Jacob. So back to our question. What did Isaac see in Esau? He saw this marvelous light, this intense flash, a passion like no other. And he knew that if he could work with his brother Jacob and put his light into the proper vessel, it would bring the redemption. Nevertheless, Esau shattered. However, there is a slight ray of hope in the story. We know that 20 years later, at their epic showdown, Esau attempts to reconcile with Jacob to some degree and says, travel and we will go and I will go alongside you. But Jacob responds, now let my master go ahead before his servant and and I will move at my own slow pace until I come to my master Tsair. This gives indication that someday Jacob and Esau will meet and walk side by side, potentially fulfilling in some form their original mission. The sages point out that nowhere in the rest of the Tanakh did Jacob and Esau walk alongside one another, but rather this will be fulfilled during the days of the Messiah, and that this rectification of Esau would take place slowly and over time until the end of days. There's also a midrash that relates something incredible about this topic. And remember, midrash is oftentimes symbolic and not literal. After Jacob had died, there was one burial plot left in the cave of Machpelah in which we read about. Last week, Esau came and protested Jacob's burial, stating that he was the rightful person to rest there. Upon learning about this, Hushim, the deaf son of Dan, took out his sword and beheaded Esau right outside the cave. His body collapses and the midrash relates that Esau's head rolls into the cave and comes to a stop in the lap of his father Isaac. Our sages note that Esau's head represents the good of Esau, the completely rectified part of Esau that is included into holiness, interred in the lap of his father Isaac. Remember him, Isaac, the man who carried the wood on his back like a man carrying his cross, who was willing to offer his life in complete submission and obedience to his father. That is where the holiness of Esau ultimately rests. However, his body, that which was not rectified and connected to holiness, that which is hedonistic, murderous, full of idolatry, envy and strife, that part is left outside and judged. Rabbi Sacks, though of blessed memory, furthers this idea. Explaining the verse from our haftara this week, Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated. He elaborates and says, the root of the word for hate has a different meaning in Hebrew when contrasted with the verb to love, it does not mean hated love, but rather to love less intensely than that which is being contrasted to. To this point, Rabbi Sacks comments. There is a remarkable comment by the Vilna Gaon that the phrase Esau I have hated refers only to the peripheral part of Esau, not his essence. So Hashem hates the peripheral, unrectified part of Esau, but not his essence. It is Esau's essence that Isaac so passionately loved, and that which Hashem loves as well. So back to our question. Now having a more complete picture of Esau, who did Rome evolve into? The sages go on to say that the spiritual descendant of Rome was none other than Western civilization and and in particular the institution of Christianity. While this may seem to be shocking or heavy, maybe not, but with an open heart. Think about this idea for a moment and first, when I speak about Christianity, I'm speaking about its institution, not individual Christians. As a Gentile who grew up in Christianity surrounded by incredible people, I love and am so thankful for Christians and my upbringing in the Church. But that does not mean we get to turn a blind eye to what has happened and is still occurring in Christianity. And please know that I speak from a place of love and not contempt for the Church. And with this nuanced approach of Esau, let's see what history shows us after the parting of the ways of the Yeshua sect of Judaism composed both of Jewish and Gentile disciples. It was Gentile disciples who began their anti Semitic tropes starting as early as the second century of the Common Era. I do not need to take you through how much of Gentile Christianity has been founded on replacement theology as Rabbi Damien spent six weeks during the summer explaining the anti Semitic roots found in Christianity. But we should open our eyes to what Christianity teaches. The Torah has been abolished God forbid and replaced by grace. The Levitical offerings have been replaced by Yeshua's death on the cross. The Holy Temple has been replaced by our bodies bringing the literal kingdom of Heaven has been replaced with just going to heaven. The Old Covenant has been replaced by the New Covenant. Shabbat has been replaced by Sunday. The holy days have been replaced with Christian holidays. The synagogue and its service has been replaced by the Church's mass liturgy or other forms of worship. The list goes on and on, but ultimately culminates in the the Gentile Christian has replaced the Jews as God's chosen people. The replacement theology that much of Gentile Christianity was built upon this dogma of Rome is none other than the evil part of Esau trying to steal back the birthright and the blessing from Jacob. The truth of the matter is, those of you who are listening to my voice who maybe would say you reject replacement theology if your theology and actions affirm any of the statements that I just spoke, then you still have replacement theology roots in you eradicate the weeds at the root before the vine is choked. Or even us in here who still hold negative traits of Esau even though we sit in a Messianic synagogue thinking we have the correct theology. If we still have bad traits within us, we have roots of evil Esau that need to be cut off. In addition to all of the theological issues that have been stated, these beliefs fueled and continue to fuel antisemitism throughout the ages. Here is the evil of Esau raging to kill his brother again, blaming the entirety of a people for the actions of a few. The Christ killers. They say, do you not recognize the lack of nuance in Esau. These core beliefs led to the Crusades, the pogroms, the Inquisitions, and ultimately the Holocaust. We have no idea how much Jewish blood has been shed in the name of Jesus and the sign of the cross. So the unfortunate truth that history tells us is that much of Gentile Christianity has thrown off the yoke of their brother Jacob and has killed many of his offspring and claimed the blessing and birthright as the new spiritual Israel. And that word nuance is a key trait that evil Esau does not possess. But here we do possess it. We do possess the ability to recognize and articulate nuance. Because while everything I said is true, it is not the full picture. Just as we have looked at the nuance of Esau and the great potential of his essence and the evil of his periphery, we must also not only look at the darkness of Christianity, but we also must affirm, highlight and celebrate the good and blessing that Gentile Christianity has brought to the world. So we should pause for a moment and recognize the spiritual potential that exists within Gentile disciples of Yeshua, especially those who have been part of Christianity for the past 2000 years. We must focus now on the essence of Esau that is being rectified. There has been so much good brought to the world through Christianity that is absolutely undeniable. It has primarily been the Gentile Church who has brought the message, although maybe incomplete, of the good news of Messiah and the God of Israel to the four corners of the world. Many Christians who have had very little knowledge of Torah know nothing about Judaism, Messianic Judaism or a synagogue. They gave up their life for the sake of Messiah. They have brought the basic Jewish morality to the world, whether they knew it or not, which has transformed society and elevated the world through their charity and loving kindness. And like Esau honoring his father Isaac, better than anyone else, Christianity has honored Yeshua more than any other religion that exists. And we in the Messianic world could take note from that. And if we are brutally honest, none of us sitting in this room would be here if it wasn't for the Christian church and the beautiful souls who inhabit that space. It was Pastor Mac Goddard, of blessed memory, who I am personally grieved that I never got to meet a Christian pastor who gifted this building to us. If we do not recognize the good of Christianity, the real life change it has brought to individuals in the world, and how it also wars against the evil parts of Esau, we become the one who lacks nuance and become unlike our forefather Isaac, who saw the good in his son. And one more thing about this idea we must discuss. When Jacob puts on the garments of Esau, and he does so in order to acquire the blessing, the spiritual vitality from his father to accomplish his mission. And Isaac responds with the voice is the voice of Jacob, but the hands are the hands of Esau. On this phrase, the talmud in Sanhedrin 98A comments and says Rabbi Joshua ben Levi asked Elijah, when will the Messiah come? Elijah replied the go and ask him yourself. And where does he dwell? Asked Joshua. At the entrance of the gates of Rome, replied Elijah. And by what sign will I recognize him? Joshua asked. And Elijah answered, he is sitting among the poor lepers. All of them untie their bandages at once and replace them together. But the Messiah unties and replaces his bandages one by one. For he thinks, if I should be wanted, I must not be delayed. So where does the Messiah dwell? In the gates of Rome, the gates of Christianity, sitting among the lepers? Because he is viewed as unclean by his brothers. Because he has put on the garments of Esau, he has been made to look like a Roman and not a Jew. But why has he put on these Roman Christian garments? To receive the blessing. And that blessing is the remnant of Edom, the souls of the Gentiles that he is elevating from evil to good and from good to holiness. And when the redemption occurs, he will break forth from the gates of Rome and with a host of holy Gentiles with him, to return to his people in Zion. His voice has always been Jacob. His message has always been Jewish. And even if we were blind to it, and maybe because we are in the final hours, we are now uncovering the layers of Esau's garments that Yeshua has been garbed in for 2000 years in order to see him as he truly is. Jacob dressed as Esau, desiring to redeem us, desiring to exit Rome and bring both Jew and Gentile together in Jerusalem at the final redemption. If we state that Esau, that Rome, that Christianity is evil, we are undoing the good work and the Recon mission Yeshua has been on, rescuing souls from Edom and elevating them to holiness. So I hope you can see that Esau is a powerful and dynamic character. Christianity and the Western world, and specifically our nation as the leading nation of the west, embodies Esau, but it embodies an Esau that has latent spiritual potential to hasten the redemption and that is becoming rectified. So I hope you can see both the essence of Esau throughout the past two millennia, but hold that intention with the peripheral the evil of Esau as well. And while Christianity has taken major steps as Esau becoming rectified, it is still awaiting its final correction. It is not complete. So here we stand at the end of days, knowing a key piece to bringing the final redemption is the complete rectification of Esau. While what previous generations have known was good for their time, it is our job to complete the mission and elevate the good of Esau and bring it to complete holiness. Rabbi Nachman comments, Jacob will never let Esau be victorious and trap forever the souls waiting for rectification. He will grab hold of Esau and eventually remove those souls from his grip. The hour has come. The time is now. The souls still trapped within the unrectified parts of Esau are crying out, waiting to be brought to holiness. And what will we do? Will we be content with the status quo? Will the Messianic world keep the Christian church and Gentile disciples at arm's length? Will we engage with the secular and non religious world, the progressives, the sinners? As I stated at the beginning, there is a dark cloud, a great tempest arising from the horizon. And there is a truth that is hard to swallow, spirituality that is being sold to our young people today. They are not buying it. Yesterday's religion is fading away. And these young people seek the the depths of the scriptures. They seek to fulfill the great potential within their souls. They yearn for purpose, meaning, and to connect with truth. However, for various reasons, their deep questions go unanswered. Their logical brains cannot compute much of what is taught from pulpits around the world, thirsting for the fullness of truth of the God of Israel and His Son. Yet they are left with a scant message of say this prayer, complete this sacrament, be good and you get to go to heaven. But they desire so much more. They not only hunger for community, but for real discipleship. And there is a difference. They burn to overcome their negative impulses, but lack the tools to do so. They aspire to righteously turn the world upside down. They feel the greatness within them, the deep call to soar to their spiritual heights. They pine to bring us to the redemption and see Messiah coming in glory, riding upon the clouds of heaven. But the vessels that they have been given are not strong enough to hold their intense passion. So these radiant souls then shatter after enduring the emptiness of what they have been taught or experienced. Many collapse into moral degradation. Their silent contemplative questions about scripture and God, those that were given superficial answers, it dissatisfies them. And they, like Esau, yearning for the heavens, collapse and fall into materialism and sin, fornication, addiction, the shedding of blood, antisemitism, and ultimately to idolatry, atheism, and in the worst cases, death, the highest of potentials falling into the lowest and darkest of places. This is too common for many youths who grow up in some form of church. And I am sure we know people like this. I know I do, because this very much describes my own self at one point and very close friends around me, searching for a great light, feeling the struggle of two passionate natures, one for evil and one for holiness only, not to find the vessels that could contain what my soul was looking looking for and then shattering. And maybe this describes a chapter of your story as well. I know what it is like to believe in conspiracies against the Jews, to propagate antisemitism and replacement theology. I also know what it is like to fall into hedonism and immorality because I have believed and done those actions myself. But thank Hashem that through Yeshua he has rescued this soul from the depths of Esau and and is wrecking my life here in the tents of Jacob. And thank Hashem that through Yeshua he is rectifying all of our lives and picking up the shattered pieces that have fallen. Likewise, there are many broken young people with the inability to give up on faith, knowing that there is something true in this place. But they lack the ability to overcome experiencing their own personal shattering, feeling hypocritical. And although they have souls that want to soar upon eagle's wings, they settle for that which is mediocre and familiar. These are people who have not left religion, but deep down they are silently searching for more. While the status quo was sufficient for past generations, it is no longer sufficient for what is coming to the world. And our young people do not know where to go because there are two black holes beginning to form in this country that are opposite of one another. Rabbi wrote an incredible article on FFOZ's website entitled when the right is wrong, you should go read it. While people on both political aisles are longing for something more in their connection with God, they are not finding it. Both conservative and progressive Christianity, whether they recognize it or not, are on slippery slopes into these black holes that diametrically oppose one another. On one side there are many secular and progressive Christians who are moving further and further away from the holiness code laid out in The Torah approval of deviant and immoral lifestyles. There are souls who long for equality and justice, have fallen into the pursuit and justification of pleasure. The they want to topple that which has been in power and they see the world as oppressed versus oppressor. Once again lacking nuance, this mindset has elected one of the most anti Jewish candidates that has ever been mayor of New York City, which houses the most Jews than any other city in the world. They parade in the streets in support of Hamas, yet their silence on October 7th speaks volumes. They cry globalize the Intifada, which is a soft way of saying just kill the Jews. This black hole denies the Jewish people's right to exist and it's radicalizing more and more young people each day. On the other side there are many conservative Christians who are being lured in by far, far right Christian nationalist voices. Many from the older generation know Tucker Carlson and have seen his anti Semitic devolution. But what is more sinister is the younger generation voices. People like Candace Owens and Nick Fuentes, Rabbi talked about them a lot too, but they are growing more and more popular by the day. These are people who claim that there is a Jewish conspiracy behind everything. Continue the millennia long tropes of Jews being evil, damned by God for killing Christ. They promote the most egregious forms of replacement theology and even deny or question the Holocaust. Ominously, their rhetoric and arguments are capturing the hearts and minds of young Christians and conservatives across the country. Can you see the writing on the wall? These two black holes opposite of one another. While maybe the older generations in here do not identify with the radical views promoted by either side, here is what you must see. This is what is coming from our children and it's already here. While evangelical conservatives have long been a major ally to Israel and the Jews, that tide is turning. Nikki Haley's son just I saw this the other day who's a rising young conservative voice said that anyone who serves it should be illegal for anyone to serve outside of the US military. Meaning you can't go serve in the IDF and be a citizen here. While progressives though, have long empathized with the Jewish community by being a minority working together to help them gain a voice, many now are siding with the bitter enemy of the people of Israel and who becomes hated by both sides? The Jews. And while you may not feel it yet, the gravitational pull of these black holes are slowly but surely pulling people in, especially our youth, leading them towards complete destruction. This has an eerie feel of the 1930s all over again. But here's the truth. These polarities are the peripheral of Esau. They are the body that does not make it into the cave of Machpelah. And these ideas and actions are the evil of this new Rome, this new Edom, which will be destroyed, as it states in Isaiah 63. Who is this who comes from Edom with dyed garments from Bozrah? Why is your apparel red and your garments like one who treads in the winepress? I have trodden down the peoples in my anger, made them drunk in my fury. In addition to this, Obadiah prophesies that the evil of Edom will be judged and eradicated. Judgment will come to the evil peripheral of Esau if they do not repent. But why is this happening? Why are specifically young people moving toward anti Torah beliefs? Because their souls have so much light, unrefined, radical light. And while they seek great spirituality, the vessels, they are in collapse and lead them to places of total polarity. We are seeing this younger generation move away from centrism and becoming extremists on either side. And why is this occurring? Maybe it's because we're here at the end of the age. And that which is radical and extreme will cause the woman in travail to birth the child, whether on the left or the right. And even those who are radically apathetic to it all the lines are being drawn and people are picking sides. However, how are we supposed to respond to this? How is the Messianic movement supposed to respond to this chasm that is beginning to form in our world? What are we going to do to help our young people escape from the black holes pulling them in? We must counter the evil Rome's radicals with our own. We must provide the vessels. We must provide the strong vessels to hold their intense light. We must become radical disciples of Yeshua of Nazareth. We must recognize our purpose is to bring the redemption and not living lives of conformity or mediocrity. We must first seek the kingdom and his righteousness. We cannot put our hand to the plow and then look back to the ease and delicacies of Rome. We must be like the man who, when he found a great pearl in the field, sold everything he had to buy that field. We must stop wasting time on things of little to no kingdom value and invest in that which is eternal. We must trade a life of fear and passivity for that of courage and boldness, knowing we may be hated for it even by those closest to us. And we must pick up and carry our cross. We must bring the good news of the coming kingdom and imminent arrival of Messiah. To those in the church who reject these bottomless dark pits of Esau, we must do the work of connecting Gentiles with the mature depths of the Torah and Messiah so that the leaves of the tree of life will bring healing to the nations that are plagued with anxiety, depression and trauma. We must bring them close to the Jewish Gospel, the Jewish Messiah, and here to Messianic Judaism. While upholding the warning of the errant doctrines I've already spoken of. We must look to champion the Corneliuses of the world, who in Acts 10 is described as the Roman man of war, but a God fearer nonetheless, who was considered pious and just, praying at the daily appointed times, giving alms to the poor, and as Luke describes it, had a good reputation amongst the Jews. It was Cornelius who became the first Gentile who the Holy Spirit descended upon in the faith of Yeshua. But notice he was not distant from the Jews, their worldview or their way of life. He loved the God of Israel and the people of Israel and the Gentiles connected to the faith of Israel, and as a Gentile connected to the faith of Israel. And I want you to notice this graphic. When you probably see this graphic, you think of, this is not good. This is a Roman centurion looking at the temple. That's never been good. Okay, but this graphic is actually supposed to be Cornelius, Cornelius, a Roman man of war. On the outside he looks like the peripheral of Esau, but on the inside, the holy essence. So we must encourage Gentiles to interact with their Jewish brethren, to humble themselves and to learn from Jacob, not seeking to assert themselves or become haughty over the stock of Israel. It is really hard to hate that which you interact with closely with. We must fulfill the vision of Jacob of James, the brother of Yeshua, who had in Acts 15, quoting Amos 9 describing the rebuilding of the Sukkah of David, that it will inherit the remnant of Edom and the rest of the nations, for they are called by Hashem's name. It is time to connect the remnant of Edom to the Sukkah of David. We must be ministers of reconciliation wherever we are, being resolute in our convictions, but also extensive loving kindness to Christians and churches we can connect with. We in the Messianic walk can no longer be stagnant and idle. We must engage with Christians, speaking to them the potential of their souls and declaring to them to return to the ancient paths of their forefathers. And by doing that, they can actually hasten the coming of Yeshua, we must also support individuals and ministries who are on the front lines engaging in this work, bringing the remnant of Esau into the tents of Jacob. While maybe we can't expect millions of Gentiles to start coming to Messianic synagogues, maybe some will. Maybe more will engage online and with online learning, maybe they'll begin to transform their lives and those around them and we can hopefully impact wherever we're at, whether on the family level or the local community level, with connecting Gentiles to the faith of Israel. And we in the Messianic world must offer them true Jewish understanding of Messiah, of the apostolic scriptures and of the Torah. Our movement cannot be Christianity with a Jewish veneer. We must teach and live authentic Messianic Judaism. And here at Shalom Makin, I think we do set a high bar at that. But there is always room for growth. However, our mission does not stop just at the Gentile Church who wants nothing to do with these ditches that we have discussed. We must also go into the heart of darkness, the black holes themselves. For too long, the Messianic movement has not engaged with those far off, those who champion the causes that seek to destroy us. We, like our master, with holy boldness, must go into these unclean places of Rome and bring the message of returning to Hashem because redemption and judgment is coming. We must go into the Christian far right, even to those who are being persuaded and sympathizing with Nazi ideology, and through our words and actions illuminate the voice of Jacob that continues to exist. In the red letters they still read, we must go to the far left and bring the message of hope and goodness and the coming kingdom and repentance to the secular and the godless. We must go to the LGBTQ community, offering them the transformative power of the Tree of life and the Messiah. We must go to the atheists and the agnostics, to the New age and the occultists. Their souls matter too. Their lives matter too. These souls deserve the blessing of Messiah and the Torah just as much as any of us do. And it is time for the Messianic community to really take on this mission of going into the depths of the world and making disciples of all nations. And I say this to myself as much as I say it to you. These people have not fallen so far down because they are inherently evil. They have fallen so far down because their souls are rooted in such a supernal place. Our sages state, the greater the evil inclination, the greater potential for good. We must get out of our own bubble and full of compassion to go and rescue the souls from the place where it's almost impossible to escape the depths of Edom. We must become both roles of Esau and Jacob to destroying idolatry and all that is evil in the world and then transforming the evil into good, connecting the souls of Edom with the Messiah and the Tree of Life where they will be elevated to holiness. For the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. And for every Gentile listening, Yeshua sees the holiness in you. He sees your essence, and you are the reason that he has put on the garments of Esau. And he beckons you to walk out of Rome with him. In conclusion, we must recognize every opportunity to engage matters. Every moment matters, every choice matters, because that cosmic clock keeps ticking with each moment. Will we push the Kingdom of Heaven away and leave souls in darkness, or will we draw those waiting to be rectified and the Kingdom nearer? I believe we will fulfill the latter. Then the holiness of Esau will be rectified and Jew and Gentile, Jacob and Esau will finally walk together side by side, being one in Messiah, actualizing the redemption. We will then see Yeshua depart from the gates of Rome and enter the gates of Jerusalem to sit upon his throne on Mount Zion, where the Torah of Hashem will emanate from. And with Hashem's help and through the power of the Ruach Hakodesh, we will accomplish this speedily and in our day. [00:40:36] Speaker B: Shabbat Shalom I'm Darren with Shalom Makin.
